WALESKA, Ga. - Emery Bryant of Point is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, while Byron Gee of Union and Obie Wilson of Pikeville are the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the 11th edition of the awards for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Nov. 13.

AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Byron Gee - Union - Sophomore - Hopkinsville, Ky.

  • Made 9 total tackles (5 solo, 4 assisted) in a 20-12 loss at Bluefield.
  • Recorded 1.5 sacks and 2.0 tackles for a loss.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Offensive Player of the Week
 Emery Bryant - Point - Senior - Birmingham, Ala.

  • Hauled in 10 passes for 137 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 24-21 loss to Faulkner (Ala.).
  • Had touchdown receptions of 10, 24, and 35 yards.
  • Recorded season highs for catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Obie Wilson - Pikeville - Junior - Beaufort, S.C.

  • Blocked a punt, recovered it, and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown in Pikeville's 68-0 win at St. Andrews.
  • This was his first career block.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.
