WALESKA, Ga. - Lee Kirkland of Pikeville is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, while Timothy Butler of Pikeville and Jordan Ghant of Reinhardt are the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the 10th edition of the awards for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Nov. 6.

AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Timothy Butler - Pikeville - Graduate Student - Plantation, Fla.

  • Intercepted 2 passes, returning them for a total of 22 yards, in a 42-31 win over Point.
  • Recorded 3 tackles (all solo)
  • Broke up 1 other pass.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Offensive Player of the Week
 Lee Kirkland - Pikeville - Senior - Bluffton, S.C.

  • Had 5 passing touchdowns in Pikeville's 42-31 win over Point.
  • Completed 60 percent of his passes (33-of-55) for 432 yards and 5 scores.
  • Had TD passes of 76, 6, 21, 13, and 21 yards.
  • His 432 passing yards are third-most in AAC history.
  • This is his fourth weekly honor of the season.

AAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Jordan Ghant - Reinhardt - Freshman - Suwanee, Ga.

  • Returned a kickoff 81 yards for a touchdown in a 45-10 win over Union.
  • Also had 2 tackles.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.
