WALESKA, Ga. - Lee Kirkland of Pikeville is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, while Noah Steen of Union and Jakob Headley of Pikeville are the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the eighth edition of the awards for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Oct. 23.

AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Noah Steen - Union - Junior - Birmingham, Ala.

  • Recorded 12 total tackles (7 solo) in a 20-13 win over Point.
  • Had 1 sack and 1.5 tackles for a loss.
  • Intercepted a pass and returned it 51 yards for a touchdown to give Union a 7-point lead.
  • Broke up 2 other passes.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Offensive Player of the Week
 Lee Kirkland - Pikeville - Senior - Bluffton, S.C.

  • Had 4 passing touchdowns in Pikeville's 49-0 win over Kentucky Christian.
  • Completed 18-of-31 passes for 186 yards.
  • This is his second weekly honor of the season.

AAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Jakob Headley - Pikeville - Senior - Auxier, Ky.

  • Went 7-fort-7 on PATs in the 49-0 win over Kentucky Christian.
  • Is 30-for-31 on PATs this season.
  • This is his four weekly honor of the season.
