Week 3: AAC Football Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Mitchell Gossett of Point is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Football Offensive Player of the Week, while Kemorion Larkin of Point and Matthew Moses of Point are the Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively.
The league announced the awards on Monday.
This is the third edition of the awards for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 18.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Kemorion Larkin - Point - Senior - Rochelle, Ga.
- Recorded 13 tackles (10 solo) in Point's 20-17 win over Thomas (Ga.).
- Had 1 sack and 3 tackles for a loss.
- Broke up 1 pass
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Mitchell Gossett - Point - Junior - Pell City, Ala.
- Passed for 267 yards and 2 touchdowns in Point's 20-17 win over Thomas (Ga.).
- Completed 64.3 percent (18-of-28) of his passes.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
AAC Special Teams Player of the Week
Matthew Moses - Point - Sophomore - McDonough, Ga.
- Averaged 36.0 yards per punt in Point's 3-point victory.
- Punted 4 times for a total of 144 yards with a long of 44 yards.
- Placed 2 punts inside the 20.
- This is his first weekly honor of the season.
