Week 3: AAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Ellen Mary Kearney of Milligan is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the third edition of the weekly honors for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 25.

AAC Women's Runner of the Week
Ellen Mary Kearney - Milligan - Sophomore - Wirral, U.K.

  • Crossed the line 7th at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational with a time of 22:00.
  • Ran the fastest 6K in the NAIA thus far this season.
  • Set Milligan's all-time 6K program record, breaking the record set by former national cross country runner-up Hannah Segrave.
  • Was the top non-NCAA Division I finisher.
  • Milligan placed 3rd behind Virginia Tech and High Point. The Buffaloes beat NCAA Division I competition from ETSU, Howard, and Delaware as well as NCAA Division III No. 12 Lynchburg.
  • This is her second weekly award this season.
