WALESKA, Ga. - Kira Rymer Attaway of Columbia International is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week, while Lydia Gustafson of Columbia International and Ashlynn Barnes of Reinhardt are the Defender and Setter of the Week, respectively.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the fifth edition of the awards for the 2022 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Oct. 2.

AAC Attacker of the Week
Kira Rymer Attaway - Columbia International - Senior - China Grove, N.C.

  • Averaged 4.33 kills per set and posted a .511 hitting percentage as CIU went 2-0 for the week.
  • Posted 13 kills in both of the Lady Eagles' 3-0 wins.
  • Had 26 kills, 5 digs, and 5 blocks.
  • This is her second weekly honor of the season.

AAC Defender of the Week
Lydia Gustafson - Columbia International - Junior - Elgin, S.C.

  • Averaged 2.5 blocks per set as CIU won both of their matches.
  • Posted a career-high 11 total blocks in a 3-0 sweep over Reinhardt.
  • Had 15 total blocks as well as 7 kills and 3 digs on the week.
  • This is her first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Setter of the Week
Ashlynn Barnes - Reinhardt - Sophomore - Roswell, Ga.

  • Averaged 11.67 assists per set as Reinhardt went 1-1 on the week.
  • Posted a high of 37 assists in a 3-0 win over St. Andrews.
  • Had 70 assists in 6 sets.
  • Posted 1 double-double with 33 assists and 13 digs against CIU.
  • Also had 3 kills, 5 service aces, and 19 digs on the week.
  • This is her second weekly honor of the season.
