Milligan Repeats as Women's Indoor Track & Field Champion

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - There was some back-and-forth in the team scoring, but Milligan turned it up a notch down the stretch to pull out the championship in winning the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Track & Field championship on Friday.

The two-day event was held at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Milligan finished with 182 points to claim its second consecutive team title, finishing ahead of Columbia (159 points) and Montreat (149 points). Columbia International (125 points) and Tennessee Wesleyan (55 points) round out the top five.

In all, six meet records were set with Emma Johnson of Columbia International recording three of them. She won the 60 hurdles (8.67), 60 (7.67), and 200 (25.26). For her efforts, Johnson was named the Most Outstanding Athlete.

The other individual award winners were Ellen-Mary Kearney of Milligan as the Track Athlete of the Year, Kloey Pickens of Columbia International as the Field Athlete of the Year, Hannah Brown of Milligan as the Newcomer of the Year, and Mackenzie Pringle of Columbia as the Freshman of the Year. The Milligan coaching staff was named the Staff of the Year.
