Week 3: AAC Women's Indoor Athletes of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Dazanni Hinton of Columbia International and Emma Johnson of Columbia International are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the third edition of the weekly honors for the 2023-24 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Feb. 5.

AAC Field Athlete of the Week

Dazanni Hinton - Columbia International - Senior - Beaufort, S.C.

  • Hit the NAIA 'B' Standard in weight throw.
  • Placed sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 16.03 meters at the Camel City Invitational.
  • This is her first weekly honor this season.


AAC Track Athletes of the Week

Emma Johnson - Columbia International - Graduate Student - Clover, S.C.

  • Hit 2 NAIA 'A' Standards and 1 'B' Standard at the Camel City Invitational
  • Hit the 'A' Standard in the 60 (7.59) and 60 hurdles (8.72).
  • Posted personal and school records in the 60 and 60 hurdles.
  • Hit the 'B' Standard in the 200 (25.45)
  • Placed second in all three events.
  • This is her second weekly award this season.
