Week 2: AAC Women's Indoor Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Kloey Pickens of Columbia International and Ellen Mary Kearney of Milligan are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the second edition of the weekly honors for the 2023-24 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Jan. 29.
AAC Field Athlete of the Week
Kloey Pickens - Columbia International - Junior - Travelers Rest, S.C.
- Finished third in the weight throw at the Carolina Challenge with a throw of 16.04 meters.
- Hit the NAIA 'B' Standard in weight throw.
- Placed third in the shot put with a toss of 12.62 meters.
- This is her second weekly honor this season.
AAC Track Athletes of the Week
Ellen Mary Kearney - Milligan - Sophomore - Wirral, United Kingdom
- Won the 1000 at the Finn Pincus Invitational with a time of 2:58.50.
- Hit the NAIA 'A' Standard in the 1000 and is ranked second in the NAIA in the event.
- Also won the 800 with a time of 2:20.32.
- This is her first weekly award this season.
