Week 1: AAC Women's Indoor Athletes of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Kloey Pickens of Columbia International and Emma Johnson of Columbia International are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the first edition of the weekly honors for the 2023-24 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Jan. 22.

AAC Field Athlete of the Week

Kloey Pickens - Columbia International - Junior - Travelers Rest, S.C.

  • Finished fifth in the shot put at the Mondo Challenge with a throw of 12.35 meters.
  • Placed eighth in the weight throw weight throw with a throw of 14.85 meters.
  • This is her first weekly honor this season.


AAC Track Athletes of the Week

Emma Johnson - Columbia International - Graduate Student - Clover, S.C.

  • Won the 200 at the Mondo Challenge with a time of 25.90 seconds.
  • Was 15th in the 60 at 7.77 seconds.
  • Placed second in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.62 seconds.
  • Helped the 4x400 team place eighth with a time of 4:35.99
  • This is her first weekly award this season.
