Week 4: AAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Jessica Gakeri of Montreat and Dylan Garcia of Montreat are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the fourth edition of the weekly honors for the 2022-23 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Feb. 13.
AAC Field Athlete of the Week
Jessica Gakeri - Montreat - Sophomore - Winston-Salem, S.C.
- Recorded an NAIA 'A' Standard in the triple jump at the Camel City Invitational.
- Placed fourth in the triple jump, hitting an 'A' Standard with a leap of 11.44 meters.
- This is her second weekly honor this season.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Dylan Garcia - Montreat - Sophomore - Franklin, N.C.
- Hit the NAIA 'A' Standard in the 1000, winning the event at the Camel City Invitational with a time of 2:57.97.
- Helped the Distance Medley Relay team to an NAIA 'A' Standard with a time of 12:23.52.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
