Week 1: AAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Emma Barnes of Montreat and Caitlin Dominy of Milligan are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the first edition of the weekly honors for the 2022-23 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Jan. 23.
AAC Field Athlete of the Week
Emma Barnes - Montreat - Freshman - Waxhaw, N.C.
- Set the school record in the shot put at the Clemson Invite with a toss of 10.66 meters.
- Placed 12th in the shot put, competing against NCAA Division I athletes.
- Placed 23rd in the long jump with a leap of 4.29 meters.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Caitlin Dominy - Milligan - Senior - Riner, Va.
- Hit the NAIA 'A' Standard in the 1000, winning the event at the Mondo College Invitational with a time of 2:58.45.
- Time is the second-fastest in the NAIA.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
