Week 3: AAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Jamellia Potts of Union and Izabella Trefts of Columbia are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the third edition of the weekly honors for the 2021-22 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Feb. 8.
AAC Field Athlete of the Week
Jamellia Potts - Union - Jr. - Hope Village Tobago, Trinidad
- Placed third in the shot put at the Tiger Paw Classic.
- Recorded a throw of 11.58 meters.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Izabelle Trefts - Columbia - Fr. - Milford, Maine
- Won the 3000 race-walk at the South Carolina Invite.
- Posted an NAIA 'A' Standard time of 15:28.16.
- Registered a facilities record in the event and owns the second-best time in the NAIA.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
