Week 2: AAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Paige Manney of Tennessee Wesleyan and Avery DeWolf Burton of Milligan are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the second edition of the weekly honors for the 2021-22 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Feb. 1.
AAC Field Athlete of the Week
Paige Manney - Tennessee Wesleyan - Soph. - Athens, Tenn.
- Posted two top-three finishes at the 2022 KMS Invitatioal.
- Placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.11 meters.
- Was second in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.55 meters.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Avery DeWolf Burton - Miligan - Sr. - Manhattan, Kan.
- Collected two first-place finishes at the JDL Fast is Flat Invitational.
- Won the 1000 with a time of 3:01.41, which is a NAIA 'B' Standard and the fastest time in the AAC.
- Helped the 4X800 relay team to a win with a time of 9:43.47, which is the fastest time in the AAC.
- This is her second weekly honor this season.
