Week 1: AAC Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Jemimah Ndune of Milligan and Avery DeWolf Burton of Milligan are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Indoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the first edition of the weekly honors for the 2021-22 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Jan. 25.
AAC Field Athlete of the Week
Jemimah Ndune - Milligan - Jr. - Johnson City, Tenn.
- Placed 12th in the long jump at the ETSU Invitational.
- Her leap of 4.96 is the best in the AAC thus far this season.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
AAC Track Athlete of the Week
Avery DeWolf Burton - Miligan - Sr. - Manhattan, Kan.
- Won the 3000 at the ETSU Invitational, posting an NAIA 'A' Standard time.
- Her time of 10:11.67 is the sixth fastest in the NAIA this season.
- This is her first weekly honor this season.
