MIlligan Posts Top 10 Finish at NAIA Indoor Championships; 11 from AAC Earn All-American Honors
YANKTON, S.D. - Milligan scored a top-10 showing at the 2021 NAIA Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend as 11 athletes from the Appalachian Athletic Conference earned All-American honors.
Milligan tallied 24 total points to place 10th in the team standings. Columbia was 29th overall with 8 points, while Tennessee Wesleyan (5.5 points) and Kentucky Christian (5 points) were 35th and 36th, respectively. Montreat (1 point) finished 61st.
A total of 11 individuals earned All-American honors, and they are:
- 60 hurdles - Kelsey White-Kennedy (Columbia), seventh, 8.99;
- 3000 meter - Avery DeWolf (Milligan), second, 10:01.01; Sierra Poppell (Kentucky Christian), fourth, 10:06.29; Hannah Oliver (Montreat), eighth, 10:18.72;
- 5000 meter - Bekah Owen (Milligan), second), 17:40.01;
- Race walk - Victoria Heiser-Whatley (Columbia), fourth, 15:27.41; Jessica Heiser-Whatley (Columbia), eighth, 16:19.56;
- Distance medley relay - Milligan (Gabrielle Mardis, Kiley Wood, Gracie Allen, DeWolf), second, 12:17.93;
- High jump - Paige Manney (Tennessee Wesleyan), T-third, 1.67 meters.
