Top Seeds Advance During Rain-Filled Women's Tennis Tournament
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Everything was going according to plan until it wasn't. Still, the top four seeds all advanced in the 2023 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Tennis Tournament.
The quarterfinal matches began play at the Champions Club. However, rained moved in and ultimately forced the matches to go indoors at the Baylor School.
In the end, No. 1 seed Tennessee Wesleyan, No. 2 seed Union, and No. 3 seed SCAD Atlanta ended up winning their matches 4-0. The No. 4-No. 5 seeded match nearly went the full distance, but fourth-seeded Brenau pulled out the 4-2 victory.
Reinhardt's Mia Hoeddinghaus was up 5-2 in the third set in No. 5 singles. However, Brenau's Sally Brannon locked up the victory as she won at No. 6 singles by the scores of 6-1, 6-1.
