Renaud's Individual Title Helps Milligan to Fifth Place at Nationals
COLUMBUS, Ga. - Riley Renaud of Milligan won the 1650 free to help the Buffaloes to a fifth-place finish at the 2023 NAIA Women's Swimming & Diving National Championship Meet.
Milligan amassed 284 total points to finish fifth overall. WVU Tech collected 13 points to land 21st, and Point finished 26th with one point.
Renaud posted a time of 17:21.03 to win the 1650 free. This is the first individual title in Milligan women's swimming history, and it's the fourth individual title by an Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) women's swimmer.
In all, six individuals collected a total of 25 NAIA All-American honors. The All-Americans are:
- Renaud - 500 free (fifth); 800 free relay (third); 1650 free (first)
- Mary Grace Bitting, Milligan - 800 free relay (third); 200 free relay (fourth); 400 free relay (seventh)
- Tyler Cates, Milligan - 200 medley relay (sixth); 100 backstroke (fourth); 400 medley relay (fifth)
- Gabby MacPherson, Milligan - 500 free (sixth); 200 medley relay (sixth); 200 butterfly (fifth); 800 free relay (third); 200 free relay (fourth); 400 medley relay (fifth); 400 free relay (seventh)
- Kaylee Williams, Milligan - 200 medley relay (sixth); 100 breaststroke (seventh); 200 breaststroke (sixth); 400 medley relay (fifth)
- Samantha van Vuure, Milligan - 200 medley relay (sixth); 800 free relay (third); 200 free relay (fourth); 400 medley relay (fifth); 400 free relay (seventh)
