WALESKA, Ga. - Reinhardt Athletics announced on Wednesday afternoon the hiring of the new head coach to lead Reinhart Women's Soccer. Alejandro Duero has been selected as the third head coach for women's soccer to lead the Eagles' program.
Duero comes to Reinhardt after serving as an assistant coach at Dalton State University, where he worked with the men's and women's soccer programs at Dalton State. Dalton State was crowned NAIA National Champions on the men's side this past season under Head Coach Saif Alsafeer, where they achieved a record of 22-0-2 winning the tile over William Penn University.
Duero's playing career started at Florida College, where he played under Coach Alsafeer. While at FC, he helped the Falcons to a 24-3-4 record. He transferred to Dalton State to finish out his collegiate career playing under Coach Alsafeer. His coaching career began in 2022 at Dalton State, where he helped the men's program get to the NAIA National Tournament each season and helped the women's program get to a 21-17-8 record overall.
Executive Athletic Director Jonathan Burton said this about bringing Duero to lead the Eagles' program: "Alejandro is a great choice for our women's soccer program. He has displayed a clear vision and work ethic for how he plans to construct this roster in reaching new heights. His ability to provide a plan and ways to execute that plan made him a clear choice for becoming our next coach. We look forward to watching him lead our women's team for many years to come."
The Eagles will have a short spring season with practices and exhibition games starting in February to prepare for the fall 2025 season. The fall season starts in late August 2025. This will give Coach Duero, the staff, and the players time to get acquainted before the new season.
