WALESKA, Ga. - There were no upsets on Saturday in the 2024 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Soccer Tournament as the top four seeds all advanced.
No. 1 Truett McConnell was held scoreless in the first half by eighth-seeded Pikeville, but the Bears erupted for four second-half goals to win 4-0. Isabella Hodson led the attack with two goals and an assist.
No. 7 Columbia grabbed the early advantage when Malia Kincaid scored in the fourth minute. However, Krista Eik Hardardottir pulled No. 2 Tennessee Wesleyan even in the 31st minute. Addison Smith broke the deadlock in the 46th minute as Tennessee Wesleyan claimed the 3-1 victory.
Amber McKinley put No. 6 Columbia International a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute. But Marta Vicente-Arche came to the rescue for No. 3 Reinhardt as she scored a brace, finding the back of the net in the 71st and 73rd minute as Reinhardt won 2-1.
Akyla Walcott made eight saves as No. 4 Milligan edged No. 5 Johnson 1-0. Amber McCleskey provided all the offense Milligan needed, netting a goal in the 57th minute.
The semifinal round is set for Tuesday, Nov. 5.
