AAC Women's Soccer Awards Announced
WALESKA, Ga. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2023 Women's Soccer All-AAC Team and Awards on Tuesday.
JJ Aalbue of Montreat is the Player of the Year, Eliska Dvorakova of Truett McConnell is the Offensive Player of the Year, Natascha Frei of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Defensive Player of the Year, Natalie Roper of Milligan is the Freshman of the Year, Krista Eik Hardardottir of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Golden Boot winner, and Bryan Walker of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Coach of the Year.
The awards were voted on and selected by the women's soccer coaches of the AAC.
Aalbue, a midfielder, tallied 12 goals and seven assists this season.
Dvorakova, midfielder, led the lead in assists with 15 to go along with 11 goals.
Frei, a defender, helped the Tennessee Wesleyan to record 12 shutouts while adding one goal and two assists.
Roper, a forward, tallied 15 goals and seven assists on the year.
Eik Hardardottir, a forward, led the league in goals in conference play with 17.
Walker guided Tennessee Wesleyan to a 13-1 conference record to earn the No. 2 seed in the AAC Tournament.
Fourteen players earned a spot on the All-AAC First Team with 14 making the second team. Dozens of players made the grade to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, while 12 were named to the Champions of Character Team.
