Week 3: AAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Chloe Battaglia of Columbia International and Ryelyn Wells of Reinhardt are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Soccer Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.

This is the third edition of the awards for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Sept. 18.

AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Chloe Battaglia - Columbia International - Sophomore - St. Petersburg, Fla.

  • Anchored the CIU defense, which recorded 3 clean sheets last week in going 3-0.
  • Recorded her first collegiate hat trick with a trio of goals in a 4-0 win at Brewton-Parker (Ga.).
  • Netted the game-winner at Brewton-Parker.
  • Also had an assist in a 4-0 win at Bluefield.
  • This is her first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Ryelyn Wells - Reinhardt - Senior - Canton, Ga.

  • Recorded 2 goals and an assist as Reinhardt went 1-1 on the week.
  • Had a goal and an assist in a 6-0 at St. Andrews.
  • This is her first weekly honor of the season.
