WALESKA, Ga. - Truett McConnell and Reinhardt represented the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) well in the NAIA Women's Soccer Opening Round, but both came up shy in advancing.
In the West Palm Beach (Fla.) Bracket, a goal in the 71st minute was something Truett McConnell could not overcome.
College of Idaho led 1-0 at the half, but Sydney League pulled Truett McConnell even in the 62nd minute. However, the Yotes scored in the 71st minute and held off the Lady Bears for the 2-1 victory.
Truett McConnell wraps up the season 17-3-1 overall.
In the Prescott (Aziz.) Bracket, Reinhardt looked to be in control before a pair of quick strikes did it in. Down 1-0 early, Carrie Consolino gave Reinhardt the lead with goals in the 20th and 51st minute.
Yet, Missouri Valley countered with back-to-back goals in the 69th and 71st minute to claim the 3-2 victory.
Reinhardt ends the year at 14-6 overall.
