Week 7: AAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Emma Rittman of Cumberlands and Jillian Mello of Reinhardt are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the sixth edition of the weekly honors for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April 1.

AAC Defensive Player of the Week

Emma Rittman - Cumberlands - Sophomore - Pickerington, Ohio

  • Tallied 24 draw controls and had 7 groundballs as Cumberlands went 2-0 on the week.
  • Caused 11 turnovers.
  • Also scored 8 goals and had 4 assists.
  • This is her fifth weekly award this season.

AAC Offensive Player of the Week

Jillian Mello - Reinhardt - Graduate Student - Freeport, N.Y.

  • Tallied 17 points on the week in helping Reinhardt go 2-0.
  • Posted 3 goals and 4 assists in a win over Truett McConnell.
  • Had 6 goals and 4 assists in a 23-3 win over Tennessee Wesleyan.
  • Had 1 groundball.
  • This is her second weekly award this season.
