Week 5: AAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Mia Griswold of Reinhardt and Emma Rittman of Cumberlands are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the fifth edition of the weekly honors for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on March 25.

AAC Defensive Player of the Week

Mia Griswold - Reinhardt - Junior - Newnan, Ga.

  • Tallied 11 draw controls and had 10 groundballs as Reinhardt went 2-0 on the week.
  • Caused 2 turnovers.
  • Also scored 6 goals and dished out 2 assists on the week.
  • This is her first weekly award this season.

AAC Offensive Player of the Week

Emma Rittman - Cumberlands - Sophomore - Pickerington, Ohio

  • Tallied 12 points on the week in helping Cumberlands go 2-0 with 1 win over NAIA Top 10 teams.
  • Had 3 goals and 3 assists against No. 7 Missouri Baptist.
  • Added 4 goals and 2 assists in a 19-4 win over Siena Heights (Mich.).
  • Recorded 26 draw controls on the week.
  • Caused 2 turnovers and had 4 groundballs.
  • Leads the NAIA in draw controls with 110 on the year.
  • This is her fourth weekly award this season.
