Week 4: AAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Madison Haney of Georgetown and Emma Rittman of Cumberlands are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the fourth edition of the weekly honors for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on March 18.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Madison Haney - Georgetown - Junior - Bartow, Fla.
- Made 22 saves on the week in helping Georgetown to a 2-0 record.
- Had 12 saves in an 18-6 win over Tennessee Wesleyan.
- Collected 10 saves in an 11-10 win over Warner (Fla.).
- This is her first weekly award this season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Emma Rittman - Cumberlands - Sophomore - Pickerington, Ohio
- Tallied 19 points on the week in helping Cumberlands go 3-0 with 2 wins over NAIA Top 10 teams.
- Posted a season-high 6 goals and had 2 assists in a 19-9 win over No. 9 Benedictine (Kan.).
- Added 5 goals and an assist in a 17-13 win over No. 10 Indiana Tech.
- Recorded 42 draw controls on the week with program-record 18 of them coming in the win over Indiana Tech.
- Caused 6 turnovers and had 12 groundballs.
- This is her third weekly award this season.
