Week 1: AAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - Emma Rittman of Cumberlands and Kate Gauntlett of Montreat are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Lacrosse Defensive and Offensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the first edition of the weekly honors for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Feb. 26.
AAC Defensive Player of the Week
Emma Rittman - Cumberlands - Sophomore - Pickerington, Ohio
- Recorded 2 groundballs and had 13 draw controls in the 16-15 win over No. 9 Marian (Ind.)
- Caused 2 turnovers.
- Scored 4 goals on 4 shots on goal.
- This is her first weekly award this season.
AAC Offensive Player of the Week
Kate Gauntlett - Montreat - Senior - Dawsonville, Ga.
- Tallied 9 goals and 3 assists for Montreat on the week.
- Scored 7 goals and had 2 assists in a 15-14 loss to Webber (Fla.)
- Had 5 groundballs, 11 draw controls, and 3 caused turnovers on the week.
- This is her first weekly award this season.
