Three AAC Teams Secure Votes in NAIA Top 10 Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) had three teams receive votes in the NAIA Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Top 10 Poll, announced by the national office on Wednesday.
Cumberlands leads the way as it is ranked No. 4, having received 92 voting points. Reinhardt earned one first-place vote but is ranked sixth with 87 voting points.
Meanwhile, Georgetown missed making the top 10 by five spots as it received 10 voting points.
Poll Methodology
- The NAIA Women's Lacrosse Poll is for publicity purposes only and has no weight or bearing in the selection process for national championship field consideration
- The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and Continental Athletic Conference (Independents)
- The Top 10 is determined by a points system based on how each voter ranks the best teams.
- The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed
- Teams that receive only one point in the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
- For the first preseason poll, there is no column referencing a previous ranking, as polls are new and different from the ratings system
- Frequency of polls occur bi-weekly
