Five Represent AAC on CSC Academic All-America Women's At-Large Team
WALESKA, Ga. - Five Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) student-athletes earned a spot on the 2022-23 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women's At-Large NAIA Team, the CSC announced on Thursday.
All five honorees made the first team. Collecting the honors are Aleea Bone of Montreat, Kate Castle of Milligan, Gabby Hammond of Milligan, Alayana Perryman of Milligan, and Bella Ricchiazzi of Cumberlands.
A total of 31 student-athletes were named to the NAIA team, with the 15 members of the first team owning a 3.93 cumulative GPA. A total of nine individuals, six on the first team, had 4.00 GPAs.
The NAIA Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NAIA national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 NAIA Academic All-America® program.
Bone, a graduate student on the Montreat women's lacrosse team, posted a 3.98 GPA as an undergrad and owns a 4.0 GPA as a grad student. She is majoring in clinical mental health counseling.
Castle, a sophomore on the Milligan women's golf team, sports a 3.83 GPA in social work.
Hammond, a senior on the Milligan women's golf team, boasts a 4.0 GPA and is double majoring in economics and mathematics.
Perryman, a graduate student on the Milligan women's golf team, scored a 3.75 GPA as an undergrad and has a 3.90 GPA as a grad student. She is studying business administration.
Ricchiazzi, a senior on the Cumberlands women's lacrosse team, carried a 3.88 GPA as an undergrad and has a 4.00 GPA in grad school. She is studying elementary education.
