WinWon AAC Women's Basketball Awards Announced
WALESKA, Ga. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2024-25 Women's Basketball WinWon All-AAC Team and Awards on Tuesday.
Allie Stone of Pikeville is the Player of the Year. Virginia Edmondson of Montreat is the Defensive of the Year, Noelle Lavery of Reinhardt is the Newcomer of the Year, and Hazley Matthews of Kentucky Christian is the Freshman of the Year. Kylie Greer of Milligan is the Coach of the Year.
The awards were voted on and selected by the women's basketball coaches of the AAC.
Stone led the league in scoring with a 21.8 points-per-game average and was second in 3-point field-goal percentage at 44.2 percent. She also dished out 96 assists on the season.
Edmondson led the AAC in steals with 3.6 per game. She also averaged 4.0 defensive rebounds and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Lavery is seventh in the league in scoring at 17.3 points per game to go along with 6.4 rebounds per game and 23 assists.
Matthews averaged 12.9 points and 3.7 rebounds per game for Kentucky Christian. She collected 43 assists, 24 steals, and 12 blocks.
Greer guided Milligan to a 19-3 conference record, earning the Buffaloes a share of the regular-season championship and the No. 1 seed.
Twelve players earned a spot on the All-AAC First Team with 12 making the second team. There are 10 members of both the All-Freshmen and All-Defensive Teams. Dozens of players made the grade to earn a spot on the All-Academic Team, while 13 were named to the Champions of Character Team.
