Pikeville Favored to Win 2024-25 Women's Basketball Crown
WALESKA, Ga. - Pikeville is the favorite to win the 2024-25 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Championship, according to the AAC Coaches' Preseason Poll released Thursday.
The women's basketball coaches of the AAC voted on the poll.
Pikeville received seven first-place votes for a total of 194 points. After finishing fourth in the regular season last year with a 17-5 conference mark, Pikeville went on to win the 2024 AAC Tournament and advanced to the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
Milligan is close behind in second with three first-place votes and 191 points. Reinhardt (181 points), Bryan (171 points), and Johnson (161 points) round out the top five. Bryan received the remaining four first-place votes.
The top 10 teams in the conference will advance to the 2024 AAC Tournament, which is set for Feb. 26-March 1 in Kingsport, Tenn.
