GRAYSON, Ky. - Kentucky Christian University (KCU) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Bianca O'Neal as the new Head Women's Basketball Coach. With an impressive background in sports management and coaching, O'Neal brings a wealth of experience and a passion for developing student-athletes.
Born in New Jersey and raised in Brooklyn, New York, O'Neal's journey in basketball has taken her across the country. After completing her high school years at Norcross High in Norcross, Ga., she went on to earn her associate's degree from East Georgia State College. O'Neal then transferred to Voorhees University, where she successfully graduated with a bachelor's degree in sports management.
O'Neal's dedication to the sport led her to play professional women's basketball on the West Coast in the Women's American Basketball Association (WABA). During her time in the WABA, O'Neal's team's designated home court was located at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.
While pursuing her undergraduate degree, O'Neal also gained valuable experience working with youth camps and serving as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and Student Activities Coordinator at Denmark Technical College. She further honed her coaching skills as the Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and Wellness Center Supervisor at Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Florida. O'Neal's most recent coaching position was at Regent University, where she held the role of Assistant Women's Basketball Coach.
Currently enrolled in a master's program at Liberty University, O'Neal is eager to earn her degree in sports management with a concentration in coaching and athletic administration. Her commitment to continuous learning and personal growth is evident in her pursuit of higher education.
As the Head Women's Basketball Coach at KCU, O'Neal is excited to share her knowledge and passion for the game with each student-athlete. She firmly believes that success begins outside of one's comfort zone and aims to instill this mindset in her players. O'Neal's goal is to ensure that every student-athlete enters the program with thoughts of success and leaves with their dreams turned into reality.
In addition to her dedication to basketball, O'Neal is a proud daughter, granddaughter, sister, and friend. She finds inspiration in the Bible verse Mark 12:30, which states, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your mind and with all your strength." O'Neal believes that love for God is at the center of our purpose and is confident that the KCU community will continue to grow in faith together.
Kentucky Christian University is thrilled to welcome Bianca O'Neal to its athletic department and looks forward to the positive impact she will have on the Lady Knights basketball program. With the constant support from KCU, O'Neal is poised to fulfill her purpose within the sporting industry and lead the team to new heights.
