WALESKA, Ga. - Samantha Russell of Bryan is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

The league announced the award on Monday.

This is the 12th edition of the awards for the 2023-24 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Feb. 19.

AAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Samantha Russell - Bryan - Senior - Tellico Plains, Tenn.

• Averaged 23.0 points and 8 rebounds per game as Bryan went 2-0 on the week.
• Recorded 28 points and 8 rebounds in an 80-66 win at Johnson.
• Added 18 points and 8 rebounds in a 73-69 win at Montreat.
• Shot 59.1 percent (13-of-22) from the field and 64.7 percent (11-of-17) from 3-point range on the week.
• Had 16 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, and 2 blocks on the week.
• This is her first weekly honor of the season.
