COLUMBIA, S.C. - CIU athletics announced Thursday the official naming of Cory Inman as the interim head women's basketball coach for the Rams. Inman has served the last five seasons as assistant coach for the CIU men's basketball program. Over that stretch, the Rams have gone 83-51 overall while producing a plethora of All-Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) performers and an AAC Freshman of the Year.
During the 2022-2023 season, Inman was instrumental in helping to guide the men's basketball program to their first-ever AAC Tournament Championship and a berth in the NAIA Men's Basketball National Championship Opening Round.
CIU men's basketball head coach Tony Stockman spoke on Inman, saying, "Cory has a high basketball IQ and leadership qualities that will suit him well as a head coach. On top of his natural coaching abilities, he is a man of high character and excellent work ethic. There is no one better to lead our women's program during this transition."
Inman was a four-year varsity letter winner at Ohio Christian University from 2014-2018, where his Trailblazers squads reached three NCCAA Division I National Tournaments, including a run to the 2017 NCCAA National Championship game.
Inman graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Sports Management from Ohio Christian University in 2018 and a Master of Science in Athletic and Coaching Administration from Liberty University in 2020
Inman will continue his duties as the men's basketball assistant at CIU, along with responsibilities in the women's program.
