Week 4: AAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Maria Sanchez Ponce of Reinhardt is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

The league announced the award on Monday.

This is the fourth edition of the awards for the 2023-24 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Dec. 11.

Maria Sanchez Ponce - Reinhardt - Sophomore - Conil de la Frontera, Spain

• Averaged 27.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as Reinhardt went 2-0 on the week.
• Posted a week-high of 30 points in a 71-61 win over Columbia.
• Registered a double-double in a 77-67 win against Keiser (Fla.) with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
• Shot 69 percent (20-of-29) from the field.
• Had 20 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks as well.
• This is her first weekly honor of the season.
