AAC Softball Awards Announced

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2024 Softball All-AAC Team and Awards on Tuesday.

Emily Loveless of Reinhardt is the Player of the Year, Bailee Phillips of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Pitcher of the Year, Audrey Moorhouse of Johnson is the Freshman of the Year, and Dayna Carter of Johnson is the Coach of the Year.

The awards were voted on and selected by the softball coaches of the AAC.

Loveless led the league with 37 RBI in conference play and tied for first in home runs with nine. She is tied for second with a .500 batting average in 28 conference games.

Phillips went 11-2 in conference play with two saves and a 0.84 ERA. She also struck out 117 in 83 innings of work.

Moorhouse tied led the AAC with a .524 average in 28 conference games, lining 54 hits. She had 21 RBI and 25 runs scored as well.

Carter guided Johnson to the No. 2 seed in the AAC Tournament with a 22-6 conference record.

Eighteen players earned a spot on the All-AAC First Team with 18 making the second team. The All-Academic and Champions of Character Teams will be announced next week.
