WALESKA, Ga. - Whitney Shepherd of Reinhardt and Sarah Lowe of Union are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Softball Pitcher and Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the 10th edition of the weekly honors for the 2024 season. The next set of awards is set to be announced on April 29.

AAC Pitcher of the Week

Whitney Shepherd - Reinhardt - Senior - Trion, Ga.

• Recorded a no-hitter against Bluefield in a 9-0 win.
• Walked 1 and struck out 11 in 5 innings of work.
• Faced only 16 batters.
• This is her second weekly honor this season.

AAC Player of the Week

Sarah Lowe - Union - Senior - Cumming, Ga.

• Batted .500 in helping Union go 4-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play on the week.
• Had 2 home runs and 5 RBI.
• Scored 4 runs.
• Lined 3 doubles for a .950 slugging percentage.
• Walked 3 times and had an on-base percentage of .565.
• This is her first weekly award this season.
