70 Represent AAC as NAIA Scholar Athletes in Softball
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) released the 2023 Daktronics NAIA Softball Scholar-Athletes on Wednesday. The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) placed 70 student-athletes on the list.
Milligan led the way with 11 honorees, whie Columbia International followed with 10. Columbia and Montreat each had nine, Truett McConnell placed eight, and Tennessee Wesleyan checked in with seven. Bryan added six to the list, while Brenau and Point each landed five honorees.
The 2023 list features 1,131 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
