Top Seeds Advance in SoftballTournament Opening Round

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - No. 7 seed Point and No. 8 seed Columbia kept their seasons alive as they won the single-elimination, opening-round games at the 2022 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Tournament on Monday.

The tournament is being held at the Brickyard Ball Fields in Kingsport, Tenn.

Columbia opened the tournament with a 7-6 win over ninth-seeded Union. Point then chalked up a 1-0 win over No. 10 seed Kentucky Christian.

The rest of the tournament is double-elimination with four games scheduled on Tuesday beginning at 11 a.m.
