Milligan Places Second, Montreat 14th at NAIA National Meet
TALLAHASSE, Fla. - The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) had a strong showing at the 2022 NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship Meet as Milligan finished second, Montreat placed 14th, and the league collected four All-American honors.
The meet was held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahasse, Fla.
Milligan valiantly defended its national title from a year ago. However, Dordt proved to be a tough foe to conquer. Milligan had two runners finish in the top 10, while Dordt did not. Yet, Dordt had four finish in the top 25 with its fifth runner place 45th in amassing 97 points to win the national championship. Milligan took second with 115 points.
Montreat, meanwhile, posted its best-ever team finish at nationals with a 14th-place showing. The Cavaliers tallied 386 points.
Earning NAIA All-American honors from the AAC are Aaron Jones of Milligan (fourth place), Will Stockley of Milligan (ninth place), Bryn Woodall of Milligan (19th place), and Jake Crow of Milligan (38th place).
Dylan Branch of Montreat narrowly missed earning All-American honors as he placed 42nd. The top 40 finishers are named NAIA All-Americans.

- Bryan: Jackson Hughes - 260th
- Reinhardt: Salvador Castillo - 128th; Tom Vincent - 266th;
- SCAD Atlanta - Chris Levario - 46th; Bryce Derick - 69th; Trent Wells - 79th.
