Two Teams Represent AAC at NAIA Men's Cross Country Championship Meet

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2022 NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship will take place in Tallahassee, Fla. on November 18.
The Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) is represented by two teams in Milligan and Montreat, which finished first and second at the AAC Championship Meet.
The league is also represented by six individuals. The runners are Jackson Hughes of Bryan; Salvador Castillo and Tom Vincent of Reinhardt; and Bryce Derick, Chris Levario, and Trent Wells of SCAD Atlanta (Ga.).
Championship Preview Highlights
- We will see 36 teams and 78 individuals at the 67th Annual Men's Cross Country National Championship.
- This is the first time that the championship has been hosted in Tallahassee, Fla.
- The 8k race will start at 8:30 a.m. ET at the Apalachee Regional Park.
- The race will be streamed live for the second time this year and can be found HERE. The live stream will be $9.99 for each event.
- The timer will be sending live results HERE. Keep in mind these results are not finalized until after the review period.
- The 2022 men's cross country national champion, Milligan (Tenn.), returns to the championship this year as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Winner and was ranked No. 1 in the final poll.
- There are 12 teams attending the national championship that have 10 or more appearances since 2010: College of Idaho, Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), St. Francis (Ill.), The Master's (Calif.), Aquinas (Mich.), Southern Oregon, Eastern Oregon, Indiana Wesleyan, Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), Shawnee State (Ohio), Cornerstone (Mich.), Oklahoma City.
- There are four teams attending the national championship for the first time since 2010: Florida College, IU East (Ind.), Lawrence Tech (Mich.), Vanguard (Calif.).
- The NAIA meet record for the 8k is 23:14.0 set by Silah Misoi of Life (Ga.) in 1996.
