Cockrell Tabbed to Lead KCU Cross Country, Track & Field Programs
GRAYSON, Ky. – Kentucky Christian University is pleased to announce the addition of Sean Cockrell to the Knights coaching staff. Sean will oversee both cross country and track/field programs immediately.
Coach Cockrell has spent his coaching career at the high school level and led the programs at Holmes High School (KY), Lamar High School (SC), Owen County High School (KY), and Grant County High School (KY). His philosophy to building such programs is simple: whatever it takes as long it honors God. Whether in coaching, teaching, or in business, his faith shines through in the adventures he takes. Matthew 6:33 (But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.) is the baseline for all his work.
Cockrell, aside with coaching, is a business owner/entrepreneur, and teacher. He and his wife own DIY Pottery which is located in the Florence Mall in Florence, KY. Coach has also accepted a position in the business department to teach several classes this fall at Kentucky Christian University.
His personal educational career consists of a BA in Art (Morehead State), MA in Education (Georgetown College), MAR in Leadership (Cincinnati Christian University), EdS in Leadership (University of the Cumberlands), MBA in Entrepreneurship (University of the Cumberlands), and is currently working in a PhD in Leadership (University of the Cumberlands).
Our goal through Kentucky Christian University Cross Country and Track & Field is to pull out the best in our athletes not only in athletics, but in the classroom and all aspects of their lives. Our goal is to help develop young men and women into radiant ambassadors of Christ to a world that desperately needs it.
