Week 5: AAC Men's Wrestler of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - Kael Brisker of Southeastern and Kyle Homet of Life are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Co-Men's Wrestlers of the Week.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the fifth edition of the awards for the 2022-23 season. The next set of awards will be announced on Jan. 29.

AAC Co-Wrestler of the Week
Kael Brisker - Southeastern - Junior - Wilton, Iowa

  • Went 6-0 overall individually as he won the 141-pound class at the Missouri Valley Invite.
  • Ranked No. 17 in the NAIA, he defeated 3 ranked opponents. There were No. 16 Kyler Adams of Midway (Ky.), No. 5 Caden Manion of Oklahoma City, and No. 11 Jackson Wenbert of Graceland (Iowa).
  • Recorded 2 major decisions in the meet, the first against Adams and the second against Manion.
  • Registered 51 match points in the tournament.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.

AAC Co-Wrestler of the Week
Kyle Homet - Life - Senior - Waynesburg, Pa.

  • Went 6-0 to win the 184-pound bracket at the Missouri Valley Invite.
  • Ranked No. 5 in the NAIA, he defeated 3 ranked opponents. They were No. 16 Jackson King of Dickinson State (N.D.), No. 8 Kyle Knudtson of Eastern Oregon, and No. 2 William Speight of Lourdes (Ohio).
  • Registered a 4-0 win over Speight in the finals to claim the title.
  • Had three technical falls and one pinfall.
  • Helped Life to a second-place team finish.
  • This is his first weekly honor of the season.
