WALESKA, Ga. - Thoralf Schmelzer of Webber International is the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week, while Alex Sanchez of Reinhardt and Ayden Keeter of Webber International are the Defender and Setter of the Week, respectively.

The league announced the awards on Monday.

This is the ninth edition of the awards for the 2024 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April 15.

AAC Attacker of the Week
Thoralf Schmelzer - Webber International - Sophomore - Frankfurt, Germany

  • Helped Webber to a 2-0 record.
  • Averaged 4.38 kills per set and posted a .400 hitting percentage.
  • Posted a high of 23 kills in a 3-2 win over NCAA Division II Edward Waters (Fla.).
  • Recorded a double-double against Edward Waters as he also had 10 digs.
  • Had 35 kills, 4 assists, 6 aces, 16 digs, and 1 block.
  • This is his third weekly honor of the season.

AAC Defender of the Week
Alex Sanchez - Reinhardt - Sophomore - Palma de Mallorca, Spain

  • Averaged 3.25 digs per set in helping Reinhardt to a 3-1 win against NCAA Division II Fort Valey State.
  • Posted a .966 reception percentage with 1 error in 29 attempts.
  • Had 6 assists.
  • This is his fourth weekly honor of the season.

AAC Setter of the Week
Ayden Keeter - Webber International - Sophomore - Yorktown, Va.

  • Averaged 11.00 assists per set as Webber went 2-0 on the week.
  • Posted a high of 59 assists in a 3-2 win over NCAA Division II Edward Waters (Fla.).
  • Had 88 assists, 1 ace, 8 digs, 3 blocks, and 4 kills.
  • This is his fifth weekly honor of the season.
