Week 6: AAC Men's Outdoor Athletes of the Week

WALESKA, Ga. - David Friedberg of Reinhardt and Will Stockley of Milligan are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Outdoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.

This is the sixth and final edition of the weekly honors for the 2024 season.

AAC Field Athlete of the Week

David Friedberg - Reinhardt - Senior - Ellabell, Ga.

  • Won the javelin at the Berry Field Day Invitational and set the NAIA record for the event.
  • Hit the NAIA 'A' Standard with a throw of 76.08 meters.
  • Ranks first in the NAIA in the event.
  • His throw is also an automatic qualifier for the U.S. Olympic Trials.
  • Ranks No. 8 in the nation (pro and collegiate) in the event.
  • This is his third weekly honor this season.


AAC Track Athletes of the Week

Will Stockley - Milligan - Graduate Student - Twickenham, United Kingdom

  • Hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the 3000 steeplechase at the UNC-Asheville Bulldog Invite.
  • Posted a time of 9:15.03, which is the second-fastest time in the NAIA.
  • Won the race by over 49 seconds
  • This is his first weekly award this season.
