Week 3: AAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
WALESKA, Ga. - David Friedberg of Reinhard and Dustin Blevins of Montreat are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Outdoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is the third edition of the weekly honors for the 2023 season. The next set of awards will be announced on April 10.
AAC Field Athlete of the Week
David Friedberg - Reinhardt - Sophomore - Savannah, Ga.
- Hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the javelin with a throw of 65.47 meters, placing fifth at the Florida Relays.
- Currently ranks No. 1 in the event.
- Competed against several NCAA Division I athletes.
- This is his first weekly honor this season.
AAC Track Athletes of the Week
Dustin Blevins - Montreat - Junior - King, N.C.
- Hit the NAIA 'B' standard in the 100 with a time of 10.55, placing third at the Gotta Run Invite.
- Set the school record in the 100.
- Also hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the triple jump with a leap of 14.65 meters to win the event.
- This is his first track weekly award this season. He has been the field award winner once this season.
