Week 1: AAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Jaja Davis of Montreat and Ruchen Blaauw of Montreat are the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Outdoor Field and Track Athletes of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
This is the first edition of the weekly honors for the 2022 season. The next set of awards will be announced on March 28.
AAC Field Athlete of the Week
Jaja Davis - Montreat - Sr. - Corpus Cristi, Texas
- Hit the NAIA 'A' standard in the shot put with a toss of 16.00 meters.
- Won the shot put at the CIU Rams Invitational.
- Placed fifth in the discus with a distance of 39.95 meters.
- This is his first weekly honor this season.
AAC Track Athletes of the Week
Ruchen Blaauw - Montreat - Fr. - Cape Town, South Africa
- Won the 1500 at the CIU Rams Invitational and securing an NAIA 'A' Standard with a time of 3:52.31.
- Placed second in the 800 with a time of 1:54.71.
- This is his first weekly award this season.
