Milligan Scores 2 Individual Titles, Top-10 Team Finish at Indoor Championships

BROOKINGS, S.D. - Milligan had a solid showing at the 2023 NAIA Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet as the Buffaloes collected two individual national championships in finishing in the top 10 in the team competition.

Milligan compiled 28 total points to land eighth overall. Montreat and Union were the only other Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) teams to score points as they finished 39th (six points) and 58th (two points), respectively.

Milligan saw Bryn Woodall and Aaron Jones win individual national titles. Woodall won the 3000-meter run in 8:19.09, while Jones won the 5000-meter run in 14:26.68. This is the second time Milligan had won two individual titles at the indoor meet, having done so in 2021 when Tim Thacker won the mile and Nathan Baker the 3000.

Earning NAIA All-American honors are:

  • Woodall - 3000-meter run (first); DMR (sixth)
  • Jones - 5000-meter run (first)
  • Will Stockley, Milligan - DMR (sixth); Mile run (fourth)
  • Ja'Quan Williams, Milligan - DMR (sixth)
  • Sylas Chambers, Milligan - DMR (sixth)
  • Dustin Blevins, Montreat - Long jump (third)
  • Myles Lincoln, Union - Triple jump (seventh)
