Five Meet Records Fall on Day 1 of Championships
KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Five meet records were set on the first day of the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's and Women's Swimming Championship Meet.
The three-day event is being held at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in the HMG Competition Pool in Kingsport, Tenn.
The records set are:
- Men's 200 Medley Relay - Milligan (Paxton Smith, Caleb Fry, Joash Mckonie, Stephen Gilbert), 1:29.60
- Women's 500 Freestyle - Manca Petric (Union Commonwealth), 5:03.28
- Men's 500 Freestyle - Abel Eszenyi (Union Commonwealth), 4:35.64
- Men's 50 Freestyle - Enzo Constable (Union Commonwealth), 20.24
- Men's 800 Freestyle Relay - Milligan (Robert Adam, Gellert Szedlak, Andre Bazzana, Stephen Gilbert), 6:27.72
Here are the other champions of the night:
- Women's 200 Medley Relay - Union Commonwealth (Lise Puissant, Emma Phillips, Manca Petric, Dori Jozsa), 1:47.92
- Women's 200 Individual Medley - Emma Phillips (Union Commonwealth), 2:08.36
- Men's 200 Individual Medley - Robert Adam (Milligan), 1:50.60
- Women's 50 Freestyle - Madison Akbari (Milligan), 24.32
- Women's 800 Freestyle Relay - Union Commonwealth (Manca Petric, Lise Puissant, Emma Phillips, Dori Jozsa), 7:48.73
In the men's team competition, Milligan leads with 311 points with Union Commonwealth (219 points) in second. Rounding out the field are WVU Tech (115 points), Columbia (67 points), and Pikeville (40 points).
In the women's team competition, Milligans owns a slight edge over Union Commonwealth. Milligan has 255 points with Union Commonwealth sitting at 227. Brenau (197 points) is third, while Columbia (76 points), WVU Tech (38 points), and Pikeville (3 points) make up the rest of the field.
