Four-Peat: Milligan Captures 2024 Men's Swimming Championship

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Milligan won its fourth consecutive Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Swimming Championship, finishing with 1,036 total points.

The three-day event is being held in Kingsport, Tenn. at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in the HMG Competition Pool.

The Buffaloes also won five of the six men's events on Saturday.

Rounding out the team scores, Union finished second with 590 points, WVU Tech third with 472 points, Columbia fourth with 163 points, and Pikeville fifth with 61 points.

Paxton Smith of Milligan is the Men's Swimmer of the Meet and the Men's Freshman of the Year, and Spencer Scarth of Milligan is the Coach of the Year.

  • 1650 Freestyle - Peter Gilbert (Milligan), 16:11.12
  • 200 Backstroke - Simon Merhout (WVU Tech), 1:52.65
  • 100 Freestyle - Paxton Smith (Milligan), 46.20
  • 200 Breaststroke - Ben Hawkins (Milligan), 2:04.86
  • 200 Butterfly - Stephen Gilbert (Milligan), 1:51.96
  • 400 Freestyle Relay - Milligan (Paxton Smtih, Cole Brusher, Andre Bazzana, Stephen Gilbert), 3:05.63
